Amanda is available to judge schooling shows in the Minneapolis and South/Central Minnesota areas, as well as some limited availability in Northern Virginia and Maryland, and in South Florida during the 2025 Winter Season. During her many years of study with "S" Judge Elizabeth Madlener, two years with "S" Judge Bill Solyntjes, and most recently in the USDF L Judge Education Program, Amanda learned the importance of balancing correctness and positivity in judging at the grass-roots level. Amanda's instructors noted that her further remarks (the summary at the end of the test) were a particular strong point in her judging, reflecting Amanda's commitment to providing helpful and impactful feedback to each competitor.

Fix-a-Test or Re-Ride clinic formats, where the rider has a larger time slot to ride a test, take a mini-lesson and then ride the test for judging again, is a popular option. An experienced competitor herself, Amanda can help your students advance their skills and prepare for licensed competitions, or a step up in the levels. 

In a clinic format, it may be more appropriate to focus on specific skills or test-riding issues, rather than breaking apart the puzzle to start again. This is an important distinction between regular lessons/coaching and a clinic or fix-a-test situation. 

As a regular instructor, Amanda takes after Elizabeth’s signature teaching style, which often focuses on returning to the basics for horse and rider, and breaking them down into digestible, build-able exercises. As Elizabeth would say, “all the pieces must be in place to make the whole go right.” 

Amanda finds deep personal satisfaction in finding creative ways to connect with each horse as an individual, to bring out the sparkle in the eye and cultivate newfound joy between horse and rider.
